It also has individual wheel 4 x 4 suspension and an all metal body for durability. This will conquer any jump, bump, ramp, or rock.
Because of the type of battery, you should supervise when your son while using it. But that’s not a big deal, since Dad (or you!) will have a blast showing him how to skid around a curb at high speeds. Wanna hear the best part? This RC truck will run for 30 minutes continuously!
Altair 818 Hornet Drone
This drone has the advantage of functioning both as a great beginners drone and a photography tool for kids who have a creative side. There is an emergency landing function, hover function, and a one-touch takeoff and touchdown that make it easier to maneuver.

Has your boy been asking for a GoPro but you haven’t wanted to spend hundreds of dollars? Here is a camera that is a great low-cost gift alternative that will still satisfy and is high quality. This sports action camera is waterproof and takes high-definition footage of all their parkour tricks and practice stunts.
It also features WiFi connectivity so when it’s time to upload it to YouTube, you don’t even need to plug this camera into a computer to do so. That is even better than our edition of GoPro, which is still “old school” in that respect.

Another great book for boys is this Dangerous Book for Boys. Don’t let the title scare you, I think it’s more to lure in the boy readers. This book has great topics, among which are:

And many more! If your boy has any interest in these things, this book gift for boys will bring countless hours of reading and trying these activities.
Pranklopedia: The Funniest, Grossest, Craziest, Not-Mean Pranks on the Planet!
What sold me on this book is the “Not-Mean” part of the title. I am okay with pranks, but they have to be “not mean”. Boys this age love this kind of stuff, so give them plenty of inspiration with this book. Most of the pranks can be done by the kid themselves, without any help from others.
Most of the pranks will be very good, harmless fun. I don’t know about you, but I would much rather my kids be into doing practical things with their hands than wasting away in front of a video game. This book is sure to capture their attention for weeks to come.
LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox 17101 Building and Coding Kit
If price is not an issue, you could up your Lego Robot game with this Lego Building and Coding Toolbox. It includes everything to make at least 5 different models – Robot, cat, rover, guitar and an Auto Builder.
It’s linked to an app, which is used to code behaviors into each build. You will need a smart device to use with this gift due to the app functionality.

Is your boy into robots? This cool Lego build can be transformed into three different creatures – a main robot, a robot dog and a robot bird. This set includes a light brick to bring the creatures to life and features real treads that can roll the robots around.
Just add a little imagination and this inexpensive toy for 11-year-old boys can bring hours of entertainment. If your boy is anything like mine, this will get taken apart and evolved into many different creatures for years to come.

Edible Candy! Food Science STEM Chemistry Kit
My boys love to watch crazy YouTubers have fun with candy experiments and then recreate it themselves. This best gift is perfect to have chemistry fun. Learn something and eat it afterwards! You can make over 40 experiments with candy and chocolate.
I love that this best toy for 11-year-old boys comes with an easy to follow guide and 27 tools for the experiments. However, as with any other kit, you will need some household supplies to complete the experiments.
The Boys’ Book Of Survival
Along the same lines, this book is a great gift for any boy who loves the outdoors. This best gift for 11-year-old boys is full of great tips that should be taught to everyone for basic survival skills. This book should be a rite of passage for boys, but also would be great skills for girls to learn as well.
Some of the skills are how to make a compass using the sun, how to survive quicksand, or how to carry someone with a foot injury. There are even instructions of how to survive a zombie apocalypse, just in case. Right up my 11 year old’s alley lol!
Get your guy outdoors with these Frisbee rings that are easier to fly straight than regular Frisbees. They are also much lighter, an so much easier and more comfortable to catch.
The Boy’s Book of Adventure: The Little Guidebook for Smart and Resourceful Boys
Another great little adventure book, this one is a nice compilation of all the best advice. This book has everything from camping instructions, protecting against the elements and studying the night sky. It also teaches how to use a compass, navigate using a map, and so much more.
This would be a perfect book to use as a guide for exploring the outdoors with your son, nephew, etc. In fact, we are using it for inspiration and guidance for weekly summer activities.
Explosive Combustion Science Lab Kit – 25+ STEM Experiments
If your boy is anything like mine, he is very interested in cool science experiments. The more explosive, the better. Safety first though, of course! I love this combustion science kit which has over 25 experiments for them to get their hands dirty.
They can make rockets, helium balloons, fizzy bombs, color explosions and other chemical reactions. You will need additional supplies though, such as vinegar, etc. so be sure to keep that in mind when you buy this best gift for 11-year-olds.
4M Tin Can Robot
If your birthday boy is mechanically inclined, he might love this economical Tin Can Robot project. The kit re-purposes an aluminum can into a fun, silly robot and includes all the necessary materials to do it.
And I love that this project uses hands on recycling without breaking the bank. Any STEM toy for 11 year old boys that encourages critical thinking is always a winner.
Toysmith Giant Rocket Balloon Set
Rocket balloons are balloons that you blow up and they fly into the sky as the air releases. They also make a fun noise as they go up! These balloons are reusable so you can keep blowing them up and launching them.
Eventually, they will wear out and pop but people say they have been able to reuse them many times over. So for the price, it’s a very economical, fun little toy for 11-year-old boys.
Got a guy that is always moving and wiggling and drumming his fingers? Get him these Sphero Specdrums. These awesome rings allow you to touch colors and make sounds.
There’s an app that controls these Specdrums. You can switch between different instruments and make different sounds, loops, and beats. Just tap different colored objects or the included playpad to make the sounds. Then record and create. It’s a great way to keep them moving and engage both sides of their brain!
Razor E100 Glow Electric Scooter
Regular scooters are cool, but the Razor E100 Glow Electric Scooter is bigger, badder, and just more fun! This scooter is made for kids 8 and up and supports up to 120 pounds.
The chain-driven motor has a twist grip acceleration and high torque. There’s a hand brake, too, in case the 10mph speed is just too much. Kick start this scooter for up to 40 minutes of driving before it needs a recharge. And did I mention that the deck has glowing LED lights?
Yeah, it’s cool. He’ll love it.

FAQ’s for 11-Year-Old Gifts
Where can I host a tween birthday party?
- Home (cook burgers or order pizza, show a funny movie, or play yard or board games)
- Bowling alley
- Skating rink
- Favorite restaurant
- Swimming pool – with constant, undistracted adult oversight
- Rock-climbing gym
Why doesn’t my 11 or 12-year-old get invited to birthday parties?
Ask yourself first, are your child’s peers actually having parties? The number of traditional birthday parties tends to drop dramatically after third or fourth grade, especially inclusive parties. Older children are more likely to celebrate with family or with just a few, close friends.
So, unless your child’s close friends are having peer parties, your child may not receive any birthday invitations.
Not being invited to parties is not a big deal, then, but having no friends is. If your child reports friendlessness or if you see no evidence of friends, there is reason for concern. Sometimes a child just goes through a dry spell with friendships, especially if a friend has moved away or your child has experienced a falling out with a past friend.
Perhaps all that is needed is time. But sometimes children who are excluded exhibit immature or inappropriate social behaviors that lead to their isolation. It doesn’t mean your child is at fault. Perhaps there’s something that can be done to help. Check-in with your child’s teachers in order to learn what may be the problem.
Should I let my 11 or 12-year-old go to a boy and girl party?
No, not unless both of the following are true:
1) The party is all-inclusive: all boys and girls in the class, all boys and girls in the neighborhood, church class, club, etc.
2) You are certain the party will be closely supervised.
